Sherry Maier

Senior Consultant, Auckland

Sherry specialises in customised remuneration advice and role benchmarking for Senior Executives and Boards of Directors throughout New Zealand, primarily in the private sector. Incentive plan development and design is an area of expertise, as is remuneration strategy in alignment with business objectives.
Sherry has been involved in remuneration consulting since 2004, when she relocated to New Zealand from the USA. Originally the Remuneration Team Leader at Sheffield Ltd, she subsequently consulted for Moyle Consulting Ltd – the Sheffield business when spun-off.  Sherry joined Strategic Pay in 2012 as a result of its merger with Moyle Consulting. 
Sherry also serves as a director or trustee on several New Zealand company Boards, gaining relevant governance experience.
While in the United States, Sherry spent over 25 years working in the private sector.  Much of her experience is in commercial banking – specifically, corporate lending, but personal trust and retail banking as well.  Additionally, Sherry worked in the food processing industry in senior operating and human resource management roles, where she learned first-hand the power of best practice HR and remuneration practices.  This is an environment where well-designed bonus and incentive plans are prevalent and sophisticated. 
After working with literally hundreds of different businesses in her banking and remuneration careers, Sherry brings a highly commercial perspective to her consulting clients.
