Accountability Mapping

An accountability is the responsibility, ownership and authority for

which the organisation must achieve in order to be successful.

These are the things that the Executive Leadership Team will individually or collectively be held accountable for.

Each accountability can be assigned at a number of levels.

An accountability can be assigned to a function in a number of ways

  • A function is a group of people who address a family of accountabilities
  • These accountabilities are tied together in some way
  • Most people associate functional groups with families of accountabilities that have common skills.

Functions do not equal Jobs. A function may be part of a job, or many jobs.
