Managing Director, Auckland
John has worked at corporate level across a wide range of clients in New Zealand and overseas since the early 80s. He has extensive job evaluation, remuneration and related experience with international consulting firms. John has in-depth knowledge of the private sector and works extensively with senior management teams and Boards of Directors.

Chairman, Auckland
The founder of Strategic Pay, Dennis has been active in the remuneration consulting community for over 20 years. He is New Zealand's foremost job evaluation and remuneration expert and has an enduring passion for this business. Dennis focuses on strategic rewards and CEO performance.

Executive Director, Wellington
In addition to remuneration consulting including executive performance, remuneration reviews and job evaluation, Geoff has significant experience as Director of Human Resources within state sector organisations. He also has extensive experience in all aspects of employment relationships and human resources policy development. Geoff is a Past President of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand and served on the Ministerial Committee to review the Code of Good Faith Bargaining.

Executive Director, Dunedin
Noel has 20 plus years experience of HR consulting at both strategic and operational levels. As the CEO of an HR consultancy, he has worked with a wide range of clients in all sectors and is conversant with job evaluation approaches linking to remuneration and performance. Noel is based in Dunedin and supports clients in the South Island.

Executive Director, Wellington
John joined Strategic Pay in September 2009, after 25 years experience as a management consultant and most recently with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mercer Human Resources. John is the architect of Strategic Pay’s structure alignment methodology with which he has worked for more than 20 years. John has applied these methodologies in over 200 organisations in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific spanning both the public and private sectors.

Consultants

Don has over 20 years experience, with a career spanning HR management and training design and delivery roles across the mining, banking and retail sectors. Don joined Strategic Pay in 2004 with a focus on staff training in areas related to remuneration including job evaluation methodology, job description writing, and performance development. His specialist areas of training include leadership, facilitation and coaching skills.

David has extensive experience in remuneration consulting in New Zealand. David’s principal areas of expertise are the design of reward systems, market analysis of base and variable pay, job evaluation and the alignment of reward strategies with business strategy. He has worked with organisations through all stages of reward strategy design and implementation including: system development, implementation, evaluation and review. David was consultant with Watson Wyatt for 20 years before joining Strategic Pay in 2007.

Lyn is an experienced reward consultant with a broad range of human resource management experience in New Zealand and the United States in both the public and private sectors. Lyn’s experience covers the development and auditing of HR and reward systems, policies and strategies, facilitation of training and strategy workshops; job analysis and evaluation and project management of the selection and implementation of job evaluation and remuneration systems both within an organisation and for client organisations.

Michelle was invited to join Strategic Pay due to her extensive use and knowledge of the legacy PWC/IBM job evaluation methodology. Michelle’s background includes managing the New Zealand and Pacifica remuneration surveys across different sectors and levels of jobs. Her current focus is on CEO and directors’ fees advice, reward strategy development, design and implementation of performance pay systems and market analysis of senior management roles. Michelle has expertise in remuneration system audits, management of the remuneration review process, facilitation of training workshops and project-management of the roll out of job evaluation and remuneration systems for client organisations. Her most recent experience prior to Strategic Pay has been as a Remuneration Manager for ANZ.

Michael has extensive experience in remuneration consulting and has worked with many public and private sector organisations both in New Zealand and Australia. Michael’s principal areas of expertise are in market analysis of base and variable pay and job evaluation. Michael has been instrumental in the development, and recent upgrade, of RemWise®, Strategic Pay’s remuneration management software.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration, majoring in marketing and management (2000), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources (2004). Her background includes working for Hewitt, a global HR Consulting and Outsourcing company specialising in talent management, rewards, engagement, leadership and organisational change. Michelle has worked with various New Zealand and Australian companies to measure and improve employee engagement, and help improve business performance.

Stephanie joined Strategic Pay in January 2010 having completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminology at Victoria University. With prior experience in the retail and food sectors, Stephanie specialises in the processes that organisations follow to adopt and adapt to change. Since joining Strategic Pay Stephanie has assisted in the facilitation of Whole Systems Change workshops, utilising Open Space Technology and has assisted a client set their strategic direction.

Survey Team
|
Catherine has significant management responsibility for the Strategic Pay remuneration survey portfolio, having previously managed the PWC/IBM remuneration database. In addition, Catherine manages our information technology requirements for the business and played a significant role in the design, testing and launch of Strategic Pay's new web-enabled remuneration database, spectREM, early in 2009.

Christine has 15 years’ Human Resources experience, including several years with the SKYCITY Entertainment Group where her latest role was Remuneration and Performance Manager. Christine’s broader HR experience includes management roles in both private and public sectors; she was also a member of the project team that developed a performance related pay structure affecting 3,500 employees at Income Support. Christine manages one of our survey portfolios, predominately industry-specific private sector surveys.

Brenda headed north from Hamilton to join the Survey team in our Auckland office in 2008. She has a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University with First Class Honours, double majors in marketing and international management. Brenda is a welcome asset who describes herself as mature, strict about policies and procedures but also with a sense of humour.

Melanie brings more than 15 years of combined work experience in various industries including 8 years in the field of Human Resources. Prior to moving to New Zealand, Melanie served as the Senior Manager for Human Resources of Deloitte in the Philippines. She holds a BA diploma in Psychology as well as a BSC degree in Marketing, complemented by a Master’s degree in Business Management.

Chery joined Strategic Pay in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Science, with a major in Statistics. As part of the survey team, Chery manages the production of several of our survey reports from end to end, and is always available at the end of the phone to offer our clients guidance on data submissions.

Administration
|
Barbara manages all aspects of finance and administration for the business. Barbara came to Strategic Pay from IBM, where she worked within the HR consulting team. She has extensive administrative experience and manages all non-consulting aspects of the business.

Sarah’s primary duties include the provision of consultant and secretarial support, accounts administration, training co-ordination and provides general administrative assistance for our Auckland office.
|

Carol is our office coordinator for Wellington as well as the South Island.
